At the origin of the Cycl'Haut Mauriennais association, a group of friends in love with the "Petite Reine", including some mountain bike and cycling instructors.
They had been talking for a while about the project of creating an association to gather other riders, to share their passion, to ride together. This is it, it's done. Since this spring, the association is called Cycl' Haut Mauriennais. Alex, Christophe, Anthony, Cédric, Emmanuelle, Louis, David, Philippe, Mathis, Terry, Stéphane and Jérôme are the creators and first members. Their aim is to unite energies around and through cycling.
"Many cyclists and mountain bikers ride solo or in small groups,
we want to offer them the opportunity to break their isolation", says the president Philippe
Merck. "And why not set up a cycling school and give a start to young people who might want to compete", he adds as a state-qualified cycling instructor. The association also intends to participate in or create cycle tourism events, mountain bike gatherings and bring the colours of Haute Maurienne Vanoise to other territories through meetings.
