Established for more than 60 years in Lanslebourg, the dairy cooperative of Haute Maurienne Vanoise harvests the milk of herds to make mainly Beaufort (cheese PDO) and the famous Bleu de Bonneval sur Arc.

The Lanslebourg cheese factory was founded in 1954. At the beginning, it only operated in winter, because in summer the farmers of Mont Cenis worked their milk at the "la Vachère" dairy. Then, when the latter stopped and following successive mergers with the dairy farms of the villages in the area, it was enlarged and modernised.
Today, the agricultural unit has been reached, since it groups together the villages of Aussois, Bramans, Sollières-Sardières, Termignon, Lanslebourg, Lanslevillard, Bessans and Bonneval-sur-Arc under the name of Coopérative laitière de Haute Maurienne Vanoise. It is today the reflection of an agriculture combining modernity and authenticity. With 40 farms, 10 of which are in the village of Lanslebourg, the Haute Maurienne Vanoise dairy cooperative currently processes 4 million litres of raw milk. This milk is transformed into 90% Beaufort cheese (10,000 wheels per year) and 10% Bonneval blue cheese.
All year round, in the mornings, you can visit our Beaufort production workshop on the first floor, free of charge. We also offer guided tours for groups or individuals (in season) for a fee, on Tuesdays at 5pm and Thursdays at 9.30am (reservations by email or phone 04.79.05.20.36).
