Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne
After a finish in Valloire, the riders will set off on July 3 from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, the first French start town, for the 5th stage of the Tour de France 2024. They will face a demanding course that will take them all the way to the Ain region.
Description
As the world's leading cycling area, the Maurienne boasts some of the most legendary mountain passes, as Amaury Sport Organisation and Christian Prudhomme are well aware. Over the past decade, the Tour de France has passed through Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne or the valley no fewer than 9 times, including twice in 2015. The Maurienne capital was also the starting town for the last time in 2019.
