The Iserane is the untimed climb of the Iseran pass from Bonneval-sur-Arc, for cyclists on road bikes, mountain bikes, VAE.
Climbing the Col de l'Iseran, the highest road pass in the Alps at an altitude of 2,770 m, is a must for all cyclists. With its 970 m drop from Bonneval sur Arc, this climb remains engraved in the calves of thousands of amateur and professional cyclists. The Iseran is also a rare stage in the Tour de France cycling race.
Cyclists on road bikes, mountain bikes or e-bikes: at the very start of the summer season, the cycle touring climb of the Iserane allows you to climb this legendary pass in complete safety. For this event, the RD902 is in fact closed to motor vehicles from Bonneval sur Arc up to the pass from 8:30 am to 12 noon. At the end of June, you will still see impressive snowfields on the side of the road. Depending on the weather, you might even find yourself between real walls of snow, especially at the “Snow Bridge”. Guaranteed memories for life and… almost obligatory photo break!
The Iserane is open to everyone, but it is also the first stage of the "Mountain Collection 2021" challenge organized by Maurienne Tourisme in conjunction with the Haute Maurienne Vanoise Tourist Office. A challenge that allows cyclists to afford numerous road passes in complete safety (road closed to motor vehicles) throughout the summer throughout the Maurienne valley, the largest cycling area in the world. Ask for your "collector" card to fill in with the stickers which will be given to you at the top of each ascent.
