Aussois

The monolith is the work of nature herself. it is in fact a needle of cargneule sedimentary rock standing 93 metres tall on a bend where you can stop to admire it. After seeing it your imagination tells you that somebody with a magic potion must have placed it there!

Description

None of the Gallic characters of the famous comic book have come this way, alas! The monolith is the work of nature herself. it is in fact a needle of cargneule sedimentary rock standing 93 metres tall on a bend where you can stop to admire it. After seeing it your imagination tells you that somebody with a magic potion must have placed it there!

But there are no Gallic adventures to be had here, just a relaxing moment in the beautiful pine forest amid fragrances and colours that remind you of the Mediterranean. This forest of larch, mountain pine and arolla pine wears a gown of pink at the end of the winter, thanks to the winter-flowering heather (a protected species) that grows here. It gives the site a very special atmosphere. You may come across a squirrel. There are many in this forest and they live in peace, as Idéfix isn't here to chase them.
