By train :
There is the TGV (fast train) from Paris and Lyon (also Milan and Turin) stopping at stations; St-Avre-La-Chambre, St-Jean-de-Maurienne, St-Michel-de-Maurienne and Modane. This is the fastest option. TER (Regional) trains from Chambéry and Lyon serve each station in the Maurienne.

- 3h30 from Paris (direct TGV / 1 per day)
- 1h40 from Grenoble
- 1h from Chambéry
You can take your bikes on the trains, but conditions apply. Your bike needs to be dismantled and in a bag on the TGV, the regional trains have special carriages for bikes when travelling between smaller cities and bike touring. Check the SNCF website for further details.

By bus :
The Altibus shuttles connect the stations of Saint Jean de Maurienne, Saint Michel de Maurienne, Saint Avre and Modane at the valley stations. There is also a line connecting Saint Michel de Maurienne to Turin. For more information, visit the website: www.altibus.com

By the Maurienne motorway (A43), you can easily access the valley. Average journey time (to St-Jean-de-Maurienne):
