Sweeping views, steep passages, and amazing natural treasures are on the menu. This hike has all the ingredients for an unforgettable experience out in the fresh mountain air. Enjoy a stroll along the alpine terraced route, at the end of which a few unexpected little pleasures await you.

Description

The first mile or so is fairly mellow, as you leave the alping pastures to enter a world of glacial waterfalls. The varied geography sets your pace and sometimes makes you short of breath. Pause to enjoy the panoramic views before you embrak on the path along the right bank of the Arc river. The crashing of the waterfalls gets louder, and you scour the sky in search of a couple of bearded vultures that have settled on the Andagne cliffs. At the top of the via ferrata, the thrill of the heights calls out the acrobat in you. Can you picture the spectacular avalanches that come tumbling down near this adventure playground in winter? The descent on the Bonneval-sur-Arc ski area brings you closer to the village. Take a leisurely stroll the the alleyways, so typical of the high-altitude valleys. Then, you reach the Chemin du Petit Bonheur trail, winding its peaceful way through the meadows. Now's the perfect time for a food stop. As you rest, look at the north-facing slope to make out the way you've come. There's your route, up in the cliffs, what an adventure!
