
This Vanoise National Park mountain hut is located right below the famous Vanoise glaciers. The starting point for climbing the Dôme de Chasseforêt, the hut welcomes mountaineers, hikers on the loop trail circumnavigating the glaciers, and families who would like to spend the night in a typical mountain hut.
Description
During the full-service period when the hut manager is present: there is an area available offering the option to prepare your own meals. During the self-service period when the hut manager is absent, the hut is open and offers: a dormitory, covers, means for heating, a stove and dishes.
The hut is managed in a sustainable manner (supplies transported via pack donkey or on foot, use of ecologically-friendly cleaning products, organic food) and participates in building awareness with the general public regarding sustainable development and environmental conservation.
Bivouac: set the tent for 5€ (with access to kitchen and dishes).

Meals served all-season long: lentil salad and vegetarian lasagna for dinner, à la carte at lunch.
Tent camping capacity: 20 people in 15 tents. Only during the summer season when the hut is open and staffed. Reservation required as well as a €5 fee per person.

Day hikes: starting in Pralognan from Prioux (2hrs 30 min, easy) or the Pas de l'âne (3hrs 30min). Starting from the hamlet of Les Fontanettes via the Grand Marchet (4hrs 30min). 2 beautiful lakes, ruins of from an old hut, and 360° views make this particular trail well worth the effort.
