The Fort Saint-Gobain is part of the Maginot line, concrete fortification of the second world war. It is unique for its conservation state. Real "under earth" submarine, it allowed the troups to live in total autarcy for more than 3 months.
Description
Huge work of the line Maginot of the Alps, perfectly preserved, the visitors discover after having passed the drawbridge, throughout the galleries, the barracks and the technical rooms which allowed a crew to live in autarky during 3 months in case of need.
The visit takes place following a marked path and equipped with explanatory panels in 3 languages (French-Italian-English).
The temperature is constant at around 12° in July and August. It is therefore necessary to have warm clothing.
