Val-Cenis - Sollières-Sardières

The Chappe telegraph is an optical telecommunication system set up by Napoleon. You can discover the Mollard-Fleury station at an altitude of 2004 m. Regular visits in summer allow you to discover how it works.

Description

These first vestiges, located in Savoie in 2002, have regained all their splendour and are worth the diversion, possible thanks to the signposted routes to the Mollard-Fleury site from Sardières or Aussois. Two other posts have been restored, at Saint-André and Avrieux, and every summer transmissions are organised to discover how it works. A unique event in the world!
