The Maurienne Fall 2021

Road closures. Nature reclaims its rights on the high-altitude roads

The Croix de Fer pass, located on the RD 926 at an altitude of 2,065 m, has just closed for the winter season (12/11/2021). The Madeleine, Glandon, Galibier, Mont Cenis and Iseran passes have already closed road access. This truce allows nature to regain its rights on these busy roads in the summer season. Snow has already started to cover some roads!
Did you know that some of these passes are found at the heart of the ski slopes during winter time? This is the case for the Iseran pass, with the Val d’Isère ski area; and the Col de la Croix de Fer with the Sybelles area.

You can consult the road info on the dedicated page.

See you in the spring time to explore the legendary circuits of Maurienne again! In the meantime, you can virtually visit the mythical passes and roads of our beautiful Savoyard valley in the heart of the French Alps.
