BMX champions are in the mountains to train

  • It is the station of St François Longchamp in Maurienne with the first stage for FFC camps this winter, by welcoming the French BMX team. This winter camp will take place at Chalet Edeilwess in Saint François LongchampFor those who don’t know: BMX (Bicycle motocross) is an extreme cycling sport, physical, technical and spectacular. It is divided into two categories: Race where riders (pilots) race over a short course, and Freestyle where riders do tricks. The practitioners of this sport are named pilots, BMXers, or BMX riders.

    Future goals for the team: In the short term, world championships in Glasgow in August 2023 , and for Axelle Étienne and Arthur Pilard, the main objectives are above all the Olympics in Paris 2024. If everyone wins their qualification, the whole group will participate in the 2024 Olympics

    On the program for the team: Fat bike on snow, alpine skiing

Les champion(ne)s de BMX à la montagne pour s’entrainer

C’est la station de St François Longchamp en Maurienne qui ouvre le bal des stages FFC pour cet hiver, en accueillant l’équipe de France de BMX. Ce stage hivernal se déroulera au Chalet Edeilwess à Saint François Longchamp

Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas : le BMX (Bicycle motocrossa) est un sport extrême cycliste, physique, technique et spectaculaire. Il est divisé en deux catégories : la Race où les rideurs (les pilotes) font la course, et le Freestyle où les rideurs font des figures (ou tricks en anglais). Les pratiquants de ce sport sont nommés pilotes, bicrosseurs, riders.

Objectifs à venir pour l’équipe : À court terme, championnats du monde à Glasgow en août 2023, et  pour Axelle Étienne et Arthur Pilard, le projet est avant tout olympique. Si tout le monde décroche sa qualification, l’ensemble du groupe participera aux JO 2024

Au programme pour l’équipe : Fat bike sur neige, ski alpin

Road cycling champions U23 Men come to the mountains for training

Du 2 au 7 janvier 2023

  • It is the resort of Aussois in Maurienne which has been chosen to host the FFC training courses for the French Road team. This winter course will take place from Monday 02 to Saturday 07 January 2023 at the Village Vacances Cap France  Fleurs  et  Neige  in  Aussois.For those who don’t know: These elite riders are part of the  national team of the French Cycling Federation for under-23 road cycling. The selection represents France at the U23 road world championships. It also participates in the UCI U23 Nations Cup events which include one-day races, stage races and continental cycling championships.

    On the program for the team: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing to a refuge, DVA initiation (Avalanche Victim Detection), alpine skiing, orienteering around the heritage and cultural curiosities of Aussois.

    • Individual planning 2023 season

Mountain bike champions, XC Elites and U23, come to the mountains to train

  • From January 9 to 14It is the resort of Bessans in Maurienne which will receive the French Cross Country team, in the Bessanaise holiday centre.

    For those who don’t know: cross-country is a discipline of mountain biking where riders use their technical uphill and downhill abilities to test their skills and fitness. The emphasis is on exploration and discovery. In XC, athletes need to have power, endurance and bike handing skills much more than in other disciplines. There are two types of cross-country races: Olympic distance and marathon distance.
